OVERBROOK, Kan. – All students who attended classes at the Overbrook Rural High School are invited to an all school reunion 2-4 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022. The reunion includes the classes of the early 1970s that attended ORHS but graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School. All past faculty and support personnel are also welcome. The event will be held in the Overbrook Public Library community room.
The reunion is the result of an announcement on social media that a formal ORHS Alumni Banquet would not be held this year. As a result, several former students decided to host an informal gathering so ORHS classmates would still have a time and place to gather. The organizers emphasize that this is an informal event. It is not intended to be an alumni banquet. There will be no business meeting or meal; however, light refreshments will be served.
Those attending the reunion are encouraged to bring photos and other school memory items they may have from their former ORHS school days. Members of the Overbrook Historical Society and museum will be at the event to scan ORHS related items for preservation and for later display at the Overbrook Historical Museum. Suggested memorabilia and photos include team rosters from sporting events, invitations for prom nights, theater productions and other school events, graduation announcements and programs, and informal pictures of friends’ gatherings.
Advance registration is requested to assure seating and refreshments for all attendees. Registrations can be made by phone or text to 913-972-0974. The fee is $5 per person, payable at the event.
