Spring is here and Osage City Parks and Recreation is blooming with activities that will get underway as soon as the water starts to warm up. The Osage City Aquatic Center, including swim team, swim lessons, and water aerobics, and youth golf and youth football camp are on the roster.

Osage City Swim Team

A swimmers age is their age on or before June 18, 2022. A swimmer cannot be 19 before the age date.

Swim Team Pre-Requisite

• MUST be able to Swim the Length of the OCAC Pool WITHOUT assistance.
• MUST have Completed Level 3 Red Cross Swim Lessons.

Swim team practice starts the week of June 6.

• Meet season, June 18-July 16.
• Overbrook, Lebo, Lyndon, Burlington, and Osage City.
• OCAC Swim Camp
• May 31-June 3, 12 -1 p.m.
• $10 per swimmer
• Swimmers will focus on one stroke per day.

June 3, Swim Team open tryout day (open to any swimmer).

• Cost, $60 per swimmer.
• “Practice Swimmers” only, $30 per swimmer.

Red Cross Swim Lessons

Group swim lesson forms available online at www.osagecity.com, at the Osage City Facebook Page and Osage City Hall. Starting May 28, swim lesson forms will be available at OCAC.

Group Lesson #1, June 13-23.

• 10-10:45 a.m., Pre-School, Level 1, Level 4, Level 5.
• 11-11:45 a.m., Pre-School, Level 2, Level 3.
• Signup deadline, June 6.
• Cost, $25 per swimmer per session.

Group Lesson #2, June 27-July 7.

• 10-10:45 a.m., Pre-School, Level 1, Level 4, Guard Start.
• 11-11:45 a.m., Pre-School, Level 2, Level 3.
• 12-12:30 p.m., Parent Tot (6 months-2 years), must be accompanied by an adult.
• Signup deadline, June 20.
• Cost, $25 per swimmer per session.

Private Lessons

• Session #1, June 6-10
• Session #2, July 11-15
• Session #3, July 18-22
• Session #4, July 25-29

OCAC Staff will contact you about a time during the session selected. Other times may be available (contact OCAC).

• $40 per week, per swimmer (One Week=Five, 30-Minute Lessons).
• Contact OCAC (Starting May 28) to sign up.
• Pre-school sessions, Pre-K swimmers MUST be age 3 by the first day of class, to be enrolled in the session.
• A minimum of 4 swimmers is needed for a class to make.
• Swim lessons are Monday-Thursday ONLY.
• Friday will be used as a make-up day (as needed).
• Lessons will not be held if the air temperature is below 70 degrees.

Osage City Aquatic Center

OCAC Pool Hours 2022: May 28-Aug. 14, Monday-Friday, 1-6 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday, 1-6 p.m. Daily admission: $3 (Age 4 & older); age 3 & younger FREE; age 65 & older FREE. Deck and pool rental reservations can be made with Corey Linton, before May 28.

OCAC Swim Pass Booklets

• Swim booklets can be purchased at Osage City Hall (Starting May 2).
• Swim booklets will be on sale at OCAC (Starting May 28).
• 50 Swim Card Booklet, $50.

Water Aerobics

Instructor Marcy DeWitt.

• Tuesday & Thursday, 6-7 p.m.
• Week of June 6 through the week of August 1.
• $3 per class or one swim card.

Youth Golf Camp

3rd-8th grade boys & girls; grade is based on the 2022-2023 school year. OCPR is partnering with Lesli Harmon and the OCHS Golf Teams to provide this Youth Golf Camp.

• Osage City Municipal Golf Course, 1401 South 4th St.
• July 25-27, 9-10:30 a.m. – ALL grades.
• $30 per student
• Golf Clubs: Students can bring their own to use, or clubs will be available if you do not own any.
• This camp will teach fundamentals of the game, including swing mechanics and etiquette.

Youth Football Camp

1st-6th grade; grade is based on the 2022-2023 school year.

• August 2-4: 7-8 p.m. 1st & 2nd grade; 7-8:45p.m. (3rd-6th tackle players).
• $15 per player.
• Campers receive a T-shirt.
