SCRANTON, Kan. – Mark Alan Stromgren, 56, of Scranton, Kan., was called home by the Lord on Aug. 3, 2022. Mark was born May 22,1966, in Emporia, Kan., to Dale and Sharon J. (Watson) Stromgren.
He spent his childhood in Osage City, Kan., and spent many long hours working on the family farm. He graduated from Osage City High School in 1984. After high school, Mark continued to farm and ranch, along with working at KanBuild. Mark owned and operated Stromgren Dozer Service for several years. His passion was always farming and ranching, and he dedicated his life to it. Mark took great pride in his work and his family.
Mark married Sharon Gene Bryson, July 15, 1995. To this union, two children were born, Austin Bryson and Susan Gene. Mark and Sharon shared 24 years of marriage together.
For the last decade, Mark spent his life in a wheelchair due to a motor vehicle accident. His injury didn’t stop him, Mark could always be found in the fields and pastures, driving around and supervising his children. Mark always checked on Austin and Susan, and was there to offer advice, like it or not.
Mark was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon, in 2019.
Mark is survived by his parents, Dale and Sharon; children, Austin (Chloe) and Susan; brothers, Scott and Gary (Marsha); and sister, Shirley (Tyrel).
A graveside memorial service will be 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Highland Cemetery, 197th Street, Scranton.
