Dale ‘Porky’ Devin, 67, Michigan Valley: Sept. 22, 1954 – Aug. 9, 2022

MICHIGAN VALLEY, Kan. – Dale “Porky” Devin, 67, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, on his farm near Michigan Valley, Kan. He was born Sept. 22, 1954, in Johnson County, Mo., the son of Bron and Vivian “Deed” (Watts) Devin.

Dale grew up in the Chippewa Hills/Greenwood area of Franklin County, and lived in or near rural Michigan Valley for most of his adult life. He graduated from Pomona High School, Pomona, Kan., in 1972.

Dale worked at Western Resources and as a heavy equipment operator for many years at various jobs throughout the area. Throughout his life he was always a farmer and stockman. He was a member of the IBEW Local No. 101. He was the self proclaimed mayor of Michigan Valley and always a friend to all!

On Sept. 20, 1974, Dale was united in marriage to Jennifer Billings, in Lyndon, Kan. Dale and Jennifer had four daughters, Shawna, Michelle, Libby and Kelsey.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Bron and Vivian “Deed”; two sisters, Nancy Ferguson and Linda Devin; and a brother, Norman Devin.

Dale is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jennifer; his beloved dog, Sassy: four daughters, Shawna Craig, Michigan Valley, Michelle (Brandon) Ferguson, Michigan Valley, Libby Devin (Charlie Plott), Topeka, Kan., and Kelsey (Ricky) Winsky, Lyndon; seven grandchildren, Caitlyn (Devon) Frank, Tristan and Sadie Craig, Gracie and Reece Ferguson, and Harlie and Jayce Winsky; a great-granddaughter, Eloise Frank; brother, Dennis (Stella) Devin, Quenemo, Kan.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
