As fall arrives Lyndon celebrates change of season

Lyndon will celebrate the coming of fall Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, with its annual fall festival that includes fun activities for all ages. The celebration begins with a diabetes walk and disc golf tournament, and ends in the afternoon with free activities such as aclimbing wall, bounce inflatable, pumpkin painting, and a money hunt.

Here’s the day’s schedule:

Lyndon Fall Festival
Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022

  • 8-10 a.m. Strides Diabetes Walk, Jones Park. Register online at E-clubhouse.org/sites/lyndonks or at the event.
  • 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Disc golf tournament, Jones Park Sunflower Trail, $20 per team; divisions are intermediate, beginner, mixed. Prizes for top three finishers. Pre-register at dj@goodnewstopeka.com or at the event. Proceeds go towards course advancement.
  • 10 a.m. registration for pedal tractor pull. Kids pull, ages 4-12 (9 age categories). Top three boys and girls will qualify to compete at Kansas State Fair. Adult pull, ages 13 – and up.
  • 10:30 a.m. Pedal tractor pull begins.
  • 10 a.m.-2 p.m., free activities include a huge Jurassic Park inflatable, Jaws of Life demonstration, lawn games, rock climbing wall, pumpkin painting with police, money hunt, face painting.
  • Also on site will be food and craft vendors, a car bash fundraiser, and mums, pumpkins, and gourds for sale.
  • 11 a.m. Chili contest entries due
  • 11:45 a.m. Chili contest judging
  • 12:30 p.m. Nail driving contest
