LYNDON, Kan. – Roger Edwin Trendel, 78, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Osage Nursing Center, Osage City, Kan. He was born Feb. 22, 1945, the son of Alvin and Clara (Rissen) Trendel in Topeka, Kan.
Roger had lived in Michigan Valley, Kan., until middle school, when his family moved to Lyndon, Kan., where he has lived since.
Roger graduated in 1963 from Lyndon High School, where he was active in FFA and also 4-H. He received an associate degree from Allen County Community College and attended Emporia State for a time. He was a lifelong farmer and stockman and had also been a rural mail carrier for 38 years. He served in the United States Army Reserve for six years.
On Nov. 10, 1979, Roger was united in marriage to Linda Chambers, in Vassar.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Clara.
Roger is survived by his wife, Linda, of 43 years; son, Travis (Lanie) Trendel, of Great Bend, Kan.; daughter, Carrie (Brandon) Hines, Ellis, Kan.; brother, Jerome Trendel, Appleton, Wis.; and six grandchildren, Kylie Trendel, Andrew Trendel, Adam Trendel, Paige Trendel, Katie Hines and Easton Hines.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. The family will receive friends 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lyndon Cemetery.
