OVERBROOK, Kan. – Grace Emily Marsh, 93, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Pleasant View Home, Inman, Kan. She was born May 15, 1929, on a farm in Bancroft, Neb., to parents La Flesche and Marion Farley.

The family moved to Sioux City, Iowa, later in her childhood. Grace graduated in 1947 from East High School, in Sioux City.

Grace was married to Merle Marsh on June 18, 1949, in Sioux City. She and her family moved to Overbrook, Kan., in 1967, and she lived in the Overbrook area for most of the remainder of her life.

Grace resided in Pleasant View Home, at Inman, and received much appreciated loving care by the staff.

Grace loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and always shared hugs and good times with her family. She was an avid reader, and if found at home, usually had a good book in hers hands. She worked several years at Overbrook Grade School, and many years at Dr. Ruble’s medical clinic. She was a longtime member of Overbrook United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Bruce Marsh, and daughter, Tammy (Donald) Forbes, of Carbondale, Kan.; daughter-in-law, Deana (Kerry) Marsh, Topeka, Kan.; and five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Merle, in 2017; son, Kerry Marsh, in 2021; granddaughter, Genna Forbes; great-granddaughter, Sophia Rhoads; and a sister and two brothers.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 24, at Overbrook United Methodist Church. Private family inurnment in the Carbondale Cemetery, Carbondale, will be at a later date.
