Leo Williams, 84, Osage City: Nov. 26, 1938 – May 3, 2023

QUENEMO, Kan. – Leo Oliver Williams, 84, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, near Quenemo, Kansas. He was born on Nov. 26, 1938, the son of Lewis and Beulah (Royer) Williams, near Lyndon, Kan.

Leo grew up and had lived most of his life southeast of Lyndon. He had lived in Osage City, Kan., since 2003.

Leo graduated from Lyndon High School in 1956, and then received a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy from Kansas State University. He had served in the United States Army Reserve from 1960 to 1966. Leo had been a farmer and stockman for most of his life. He had also been the director of the Osage County Weed Department for 31 years, and had then worked part-time at the Osage County Transfer Station. He had been a member of the Lyndon school board and the Southeast Kansas Weed Directors Association. He was a member of the Lifepoint Church, Topeka, Kan.

On Aug. 12, 1967, Leo was united in marriage to Gloria Beam, in Topeka. To this union, two sons were born, Jeff and Martin.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Beulah; brother, Kenneth (Marjorie) Williams; and two sisters, Evelyn (Robert) Artz and Arlene (Bill)Owens.

Leo is survived by his wife, Gloria, of 56 years; two sons, Jeff (Janella) Williams, Lawrence, Kan., and Martin (Monica) Williams, Lyndon; and his three grandchildren, Conlan, Rozlynn and Ryley.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, May 12, at Lifepoint Church, 200 SW 30th St., Topeka, KS 66611. The family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon.
