OSAGE CITY, Kan. – Agnes Adaline “Ciss” Totman, 71, passed away on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at the Kelly House of Meriden, Meriden, Kan. She was born on May 6, 1952, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Elsmont “Kelly” and Evaleena (Lumsden) Bernatowicz.

Ciss grew up in Detroit and Kansas City, and had lived in Osage County, Kansas, for more than 50 years. She had worked at Hallmark Cards in Osage City, but she spent most of her time as a homemaker and mother.

Ciss was an avid gardener and prolific reader. She did her best to instill a love of nature and the written word in her children and grandchildren – always up for a walk in the woods, a fishing trip, and an animated bedtime story.

Ciss was preceded in death by her parents, Elsmont and Evaleena, along with siblings Mike, Frank, and Betty.

Ciss is survived by her husband, Ed, of nearly 44 years; three daughters, Angel (Jeremy) McGhee, of Topeka, Kan., Kelly (Rick) Eden, Ramona, Okla., and Katie (Ely) Creach, Kansas City, Kan.; brother, John Maxwell, Burlingame, Kan.; two sisters, Martha Arreola, Emporia, Kan., and Sue Brown, Columbia, Mo.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren with one nearly here; and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends 2:30-4 p.m. Feb. 10, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon, Kan. Memorial contributions can be made to the Osage City Public Library, and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451. Condolences can be left at
