Karen Ann Braidich Ladehoff, 76, Melvern: March 10, 1947 – Jan. 25, 2024

MELVERN, Kan. – Karen Ann Braidich Ladehoff passed away Jan. 25, 2024, at the age of 76. Born March 10, 1947, in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of William Braidich and Anna Schultz Braidich.

Karen grew up in Grand Island, N.Y. After graduating from high school, she and her sister, Mary, moved to Chicago, Ill., for employment opportunities. There she was employed by Santa Fe Railroad and later by Northwestern Railroad for several years.

In 1990, she took a job with American Express that moved her to Jacksonville, Fla. Shortly after, the company moved her to Kernersville, N.C., where she spent several years.

In 2006, Karen took an early retirement and moved to Melvern, Kan., to be near family. In August 2006 she went back to work and was employed by the Osage County Clerk’s Office. She took full retirement in 2013.

Throughout her life she was very talented and enjoyed doing all sorts of crafts, such as quilting, crocheting and needlepoint. She loved sharing her skills and talent – almost as much as she loved her dogs, which were her best friends. Karen was a person that did so much for others and enjoyed helping people any way she could, especially through donating her crafts.

Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Braidich Jaron, in March 2020.

She was survived by her niece, Danielle Dillon (Mike), Valerie and Gavin; nephew, Vince Jaron (Lauren) and Wesley; and many cousins and friends.
