Come celebrate Christmastime at Osage City

OSAGE CITY, Kan. – It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, especially on Market Street in Osage City. This Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, the Osage City community opens up the holiday shopping season with its annual celebration of Christmas on Market Street.

The daylong event includes games, runs, strolls, storytelling and drawings, centered in downtown Osage City. The city invites Santa Clause to make his Osage County debut for the season. Santa will be available for visits and to collect Christmas lists, and also ride in the evening lighted Christmas parade, which gets underway after the downtown Christmas lighting at 5:45 p.m. The theme for this year’s event is “Christmas Movies.”

Traditional favorite Christmas on Market events will include gingerbread house building, a cookie baking contest, ping pong ball drops, raffle drawings, in-store drawings, fire truck rides. See the complete schedule below:

“Christmas Movies”

8-10 a.m. – Boxcar Tasty Express cinnamon rolls, 6th Street between Market and Holliday.
7 a.m.-8 p.m. – Marilynn’s Restaurant, 1216 Laing St. Order from the menu and enjoy a home cooked meal.
8 a.m.-3 p.m. – Osage County Senior Center “Sewing Chicks.” Shop for gifts from among their sewing projects. Purchase a ticket for the quilt they are raffling.
8 a.m.-3 p.m. – Osage City Public Library Story Stroll. Start 5th and Holliday; follow the signs and read “The Littlest Reindeer.”
Elementary School Jingle Bell 5K Run. Contact Shanda Koett, 620-560-5132. Parking lot register at 7:45 a.m. Race begins at 8:30 a.m.
9 a.m.- Ridge Iron Grill, 611 Market. Breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, Bloody Mary’s. Order from the menu.
9 a.m.-2 p.m. – Osage Garden and Produce, 1048 Laing St.; local crafts, specialty items, poinsettia specials, succulent ornaments.
9 a.m.-2 p.m. – KB’s SpecialTees, 530 Market St. Come visit and Spin the Wheel of Deals (Everyone gets a deal).
9 a.m.-2 p.m. – Craft Show. Contact Janet Bosworth to register, 785-554-5039. St. Brigid Church Hall. 309 S. 6th and Methodist Church, 219 S. 6^th,
9 a.m.-2 p.m. – Retail Poker (5 Card Stud) Cash Prizes, Senior Center. Visit participating businesses and pick up a FREE envelope with card. Check out what they have available to help you with your Christmas List. Winners announced at the raffle drawing.
9 a.m.-2 p.m. – Fraternal Order of Eagles, $10 take home kits and concessions. 209 N. Martin St. Letters to Santa; letter supplies, cookies and cocoa, magic reindeer food. 50 percent of the proceeds will be donated to warmth fund.
9 a.m.-2 p.m. – 4-H Willing Workers, bake sale at senior center.
9 a.m.-2 p.m. – Boy Scouts Troop 106; 6th and Market, beverage bar, coffee, hot chocolate.
9 a.m.-7 p.m. – Two Cousins weeSale, 214 Market St. 10 percent Off All Merchandise
9:30 a.m. – Santa arrives; 6th and Market. Santa will be flying in to the Osage City Airport, where the fire department will pick him up in a fire truck and bring him downtown. Come downtown to wave at him and welcome him.
10 a.m. – Ramblin’ Rose, 629 Market St. Stop by and purchase a $1 children’s grab bag (limited quantity.)
10 a.m.- 12 p.m. – Visit with Santa at the senior center. Stop in and tell him what is on your Christmas wish list.
10 a.m.- 12 p.m. – McCoy’s RadioShack, 521 Market. Come check out the 2025 toy expo. Prizes to be given away.
10 a.m.- 12 p.m. – Osage City High School Cheerleaders fundraiser. Face painting at the senior center.
10 a.m.-4 p.m. – Furniture Loft drawing, 523 Market St. Stop in and register for a chance to win Candle holder set.
11 a.m.-? – Lunch and snacks outside dining court, 6th Street between Market and Holliday. Food vendors will be set up and ready to serve.
12-1 p.m. – Emergency services showcase, 6th and Main Street. Stop by to visit and thank our local emergency services personnel.
12-1:30 p.m. – Fire truck rides, 6th and Main Street. Take a ride on one of the fire trucks.
12:30-12:45 p.m. – Two ping pong drops, 6th Street between Market and Main. Get a ball with a number on it and visit the corresponding store to collect your gift.
1-1:30 p.m. – Story time at the Osage City Public Library, 515 Main St. Listen to a story and make a Christmas tree ornament.
2-3 p.m. – Visit with Santa at the senior center.
2-4 p.m. – Gingerbread house building, American Legion Post 198, 115 W 6th St. Come make a gingerbread house at this free event sponsored by Osage City PTA.
2:15-2:30 p.m. – Raffle drawing. Need not be present to win. 6th and Market Street. Hundreds of dollars in prizes donated by local businesses. Day of the event, purchase tickets at the senior center and craft show.
3-4 p.m. – Quarter bingo, winner takes the pot, at senior center. Bring your quarters. Only able to cash bills no larger than $5.
3:30-4 p.m. – Holiday cookie contest, senior center. Contact Shanda Koett at 620-560-5132 to register.
4-5 p.m. – Holiday cookie feed, hot chocolate and water, senior center. All are welcome; free will donation.
4:30-5 p.m. – Osage City High School Choir, downtown. Enjoy listening to the choir sing holiday tunes.
5 p.m.-? – Fraternal Order of Eagles concessions, Santa Fe Depot; hot cocoa, hot cider, popcorn, water and more. 50 percent of proceeds donated to the Warmth Fund.
5 -5:30 p.m. – Parade float judging and line up, west end of Market Street.
5:45 p.m. – Downtown holiday lighting, 6th and Market.
