The Osage City Chamber of Commerce Board has undergone a few changes. At the April member meeting, Annie Gile was introduced as the new Chamber executive director.
Annie grew up down the road in Reading. She has more than a decade of professional experience in the public and private sectors, with a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Kansas. She and her family have lived in Osage City for the past five years and she is looking forward to working and giving back to the community through the Chamber.
After the meeting, the board voted in Mike Pitts as president, John Giesey as vice president, Debbie Bailey as secretary, and Katie Hodge as treasurer. Other board of directors include Kathi Webster, Joshua Payne, James Payne, and Shanda Koett.

Osage City Yard of the Month recognition
With all of the beautifully groomed yards and flower beds in Osage City, the Osage City Chamber of Commerce is once again sponsoring a “Yard of the Month” recognition during the months of June through September. The selection of the yard will take place during the first few days of each month. In appreciation of the beauty and hard work for the selected yard, the home owners will receive a $25 Osage City Chamber Buck Certificate to be used at participating Osage City businesses.
Osage County Fair
July 8-11, 2026, will mark the dates for the Osage County Fair, in Osage City. Adam Burnett, parade chairman, will provide information regarding the parade, and a parade form will be available soon to submit an entry for the parade. The Chamber of Commerce will be offering cash prizes for float entries and golf cart and ATV entries. Contact Adam at osagecityparade@gmail.com for more information.
Mr. and Mrs. Osage City and parade marshal nominations
The Osage City Fair Parade, July 10, 2026, is going to be here before we know it. The theme for the fair and parade will be “Salute To America – 250 Years.” The Osage City Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for Mr. and Mrs. Osage City and the parade marshal.
Searching back through the history, the parade marshal has been a single individual, a couple, a group of employees, young or senior, that have contributed and supported the Osage City community. If you have someone in mind for either of these honors, submit their name to parade chairman Adam Burnett at osagecityparade@gmail.com. Deadline for nominations is June 8; selection will be June 11.
Coloring Contest
In conjunction with the fair parade, the Osage City Chamber of Commerce and Osage County Fire District No. 2 are offering the opportunity for children grades kindergarten through fifth to color a theme picture with the anticipation of getting selected to ride on the firetruck in the parade, Friday, July 10. The theme picture will be distributed at the school. The winners will be notified soon after the selection.
Community fireworks celebration
The date for the annual community fireworks show hosted by the Osage City Chamber of Commerce will be Saturday, July 11, starting at 10 p.m. This year’s celebration will be an extra special event in recognition of America’s 250th birthday.
The event is one of the more expensive events that is offered to the community, and it takes a joint effort of financial resources to help supplement the cost of the fireworks. The Chamber was very pleased with the positive response of the sponsorship from businesses and individuals for last year and hope to meet the projected goal of $10,000 for this year.
