The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin a 12-mile mill and overlay project in Osage County, Monday, June 15, 2026. Resurfacing work will take place on state Highway 68, from U.S. Highway 75 to the state Highway 268 junction north of Quenemo.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane and directed by a pilot car and flaggers where crews are actively working. Drivers should plan for delays of up to 15 minutes. A 12-foot width restriction will also be in place through the work zone.
Work will occur during daylight hours Monday through Friday and is expected to be complete by the end of July, conditions permitting.
APAC-Kansas Inc. Shears Division, of Hutchinson, Kan., is the prime contractor for the $1.5 million project.
