Lions’ free mobile screening unit to visit Vassar

The Kansas Lions Mobile Screening Unit, which offers free sight, hearing, blood pressure and diabetes testing, will be in Vassar on Oct. 26 at the Vassar FunFest. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or later. The MSU is sponsored by the Lyndon Lions Club.

At the free screening, a vision screener tests children from about six months of age to preschool age and older. The vision screener detects serious eye problems that then can be treated by optometrists and ophthalmologists who specialize in such eye problems. It only requires the infant or child to look at the vision screener. Vision screening is also available for adults.

Everyone is invited to come for the free screenings in the MSU. All that is required is to show up while the MSU is open, register, and come inside for the various screenings. Results will be given to each person who is tested, and those results can be taken to the appropriate medical professional if indicated.
