CARBONDALE, Kan. – Jeffery Jon Sitz, 66, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at his home in Carbondale, Kan., after a long battle with cancer. He was born July 13, 1959, in Park Rapids, Minn., the son of Charles “Chuck” and Lorraine “Lori” (Rambo) Sitz.
Jeff was born in Park Rapids, grew up in Topeka, Kan., and had lived in Auburn and Carbondale, Kan.
Jeff had worked as a carpenter most of his life, most recently for Shawn Silver Construction. He was a member of the Topeka Classic Chevy Club.
On Jan. 12, 1985, Jeff was united in marriage to Dawn DeLene Bartley. To this union four children were born, Joshua, Ashley, Jered, and Jordan.
Jeff was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Sitz; his parents, Chuck and Lori; and sister, Terri Sitz.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Dawn, of over 41 years; his three children, Ashley Sitz, Jered Sitz, and Jordan Sitz, all of Carbondale; brother, Mike Sitz, Topeka; niece, Megan Sitz, Topeka; four grandchildren, Bella Sitz, Harley Fernkopf, Jonny Fernkopf and Tony Fernkopf; and other relatives and friends.
After the love of his family and friends, Jeff loved drag races, motocross and hot rods.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. Visitation with family will follow the service.
