At the Aug. 12, 2026, Overbrook City Council meeting, two Overbrook police officers were honored for safely resolving a suicidal subject incident in May. Overbrook Police Chief Eric Carlson presented Officer Garrett Brustowicz and Officer Jacob Burrell department commendation letters and meritorious conduct medals for their actions during the incident.
