Chamber recognizes Reeves for Osage City’s August Yard of the Month
The selection for the August Yard of the Month has taken place and the Chamber of Commerce has announced Angela Reeves’ yard has been selected. Her home is located at 902 California St. In the five years that she has lived at that location, she has made big improvements to the home’s structural and aesthetic curb appeal. Angela has relied on local businesses to maintain her current setup, which was installed a few years ago by Hallgren Lawn and Landscape. It is now maintained by Hogelin Lawn & Landscape, and the grass is mowed by Bowin Landscaping and Lawncare LLC.
The front entrance is framed by two striking spiral blue junipers planted in oversized containers, creating a dramatic focal point that draws attention to the covered porch. The overall design combines formal structure with natural curves, resulting in a sophisticated, welcoming entrance that emphasizes the home’s character while remaining easy to maintain. The use of contrasting stone colors, evergreen specimens, seasonal containers, and carefully selected plant material creates a timeless landscape that delivers beauty in every season.

Osage City fall citywide garage sale – Sept. 18-19, 2026
Osage City’s fall citywide garage sale time is just around the corner, and the Chamber is inviting sellers to sign up to get on the map. This is a great opportunity to get rid of some of that “stuff” you never use and free up some space. The citywide garage sale is set for Sept. 18-19, 2026. To sign up, contact Jeanette Stromgren at 785-220-4722 or email jstromgren@osagecitylibrary.org. She will create the area map which provides a chart for the type of items at the garage sales. She will need your name – as you want it listed on the map, address, a phone number in case of questions about the sale, if you are having the sale Friday and Saturday or Saturday only, what area you are on the map, type of items that you will be selling, and a $5 donation fee. The map is to be available at the Chamber of Commerce Facebook and website. The proceeds go towards a scholarship or leadership opportunities awarded every year to two Osage City High School students to support their education. The deadline for adding a sale to the garage sale map is noon Tuesday, Sept. 1
Business listening session deemed a success
On July 23, 2026, the Osage City Chamber of Commerce hosted an After Hours business listening session for area businesses to attend and share input on current Chamber offerings and speak to what they’d like to see in the future. The event was well-attended with several retail and professional businesses from downtown, as well as former and current chamber board members. The input received will be used in the board’s upcoming strategic planning meeting, and will help guide the future direction of the Chamber.

Big top circus coming back to Osage City, Sunday, Sept. 13
The Osage City Chamber of Commerce has announced they will be hosting the Culpepper & Merriweather Big Top Circus Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026, at Jones Park, north of the Osage City Community Building. There will be two shows: 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Tickets available in advance at various locations, yet to be determined by the Chamber.
“Fall Festival 2026”- Oct. 10
Mark Oct. 10 on the calendar to join in for a fun day kicking off the beginning of fall at the Osage City Fall Festival. The committee is busy working on organizing the event and information will soon be available. Plans are to have a beer garden, live music, food and snack trucks, pumpkin painting, scarecrow making, face painting, and more. There will be music, food and other forms of entertainment. Watch for flyers and social media for the final rundown of activities and schedule for the Fall Festival 2026!
Save the date for Christmas on Market Street
The Christmas on Market Street committee has begun planning for this year’s event, which will be Saturday, Nov. 21, 2026. The theme is Stars, Stripes, and Christmas Lights. This is a continuation of celebrating our country’s 250th anniversary, and the theme is meant to invoke an Americana Christmas, where patriotic pride meets holiday cheer.
