LYNDON, Kan. – Darrell Gene Warren, 87, passed away Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026, at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka, Kan. He was born July 11, 1939, near Lyndon, Kan., the son of Herbert and Leona (Butterfield) Warren.
Darrell had lived most of his life around the Lyndon and Vassar, Kan., communities. He graduated from Lyndon High School in 1957.
Darrell had worked many years as a drywall finisher, was an over the road truck driver, and had farmed through the years.
Darrell was married to Lila Hildebrand in 1960, they later divorced. To this union three daughters were born, Karen, Debra and Amy. He married Sandra Couts in 1993. Sandy preceded him in death Sept. 5, 2007.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Leona.
Darrell is survived by his three daughters, Karen Warren (Tim Harford), of New Braunfels, Texas, Debra (David) Rassmusson, Lyndon, and Amy (Don) Tobler, Lebo, Kan.; two brothers, Bennie (Betty) Warren, Lyndon, and Herb (Loretta) Warren, Overbrook; six grandchildren, Max and Sam Harford, Elizabeth Hummel and Neil Rasmusson, Heather and Dustin Tobler; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to service time Friday. Private family burial will take place at Lyndon Cemetery.
