Perfect fall day for celebration of fun

Gladys and Ben Streeter were the grand marshals of Vassar’s FunFest parade Saturday. Following the color guard, the Streeters led a parade of costumed characters to Vassar School, the center of the day’s activities.

A costume contest, pie contest, car show and other fun kept Jones Park buzzing with activity during the perfect fall day.

Winners of the pie contest were:

First place, Becky Thill, with a pumpkin pecan pie; second place, Jetta Lee Wigger, with coconut crème; third place, Pat Croucher, lemon meringue; first honorable mention, Becky Thill, coconut crème; second honorable mention, Bonnie Clark, sour cream raisin.
