The Osage City Area Arts Council will present a concert by Acoustic Eidolon at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in the United Methodist Church sanctuary, 219 S. Sixth St., Osage City.
Featuring Joe Scott and his double-neck guitar (guitjo), and classically trained Hannah Alkire on cello, this husband and wife duo have captivated audiences around the world. With their unique “new acoustic” sound, they blend Celtic, folk, world and Latin music influences that provide some of the most intriguing music heard today.
This will be the fourth concert performed in Osage City by Acoustic Eidolon. The duo presents one of the most popular performances that the Osage City Area Arts Council brings to town, providing a combination of instrumental and vocal arrangements. It’s a sound that has garnered critical acclaim with comments such as “… a sublime acoustic duo … brilliant … instrumentality … sumptuous instrumental feast”. In addition to their regular programming, they will perform some of their Christmas arrangements. CDs will be available for purchase.
The concert is a benefit for the arts council’s 2014 membership drive. Members may renew their memberships and non-members are invited to join. With Christmas coming up, a single membership ($20) would be a great Christmas gift for family members or friends.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Care Abounds in Community will match the funds raised up to $300. This fund helps individuals, families in need or not-for-profit organizations that serve the community. OCAAC encourages members to renew and non-members to join.
