Storm spotter training planned at Burlingame

Anyone interesting in learning more about the weather can attend the Osage County storm spotter training, 7 p.m. March 14 at the Schuyler Community Center, 218 W. Fremont St., Burlingame. This is the only class that will be held in Osage County this season. Other upcoming classes in northeast Kansas can be found at: www.crh.noaa.gov/top/

Every year, the National Weather Service in Topeka presents storm spotter talks that are open to the general public.  Presentations are typically around 90 minutes long, and are given by a meteorologist from the NWS office. Spotter training focuses on storm structure and accurate identification of important cloud features associated with supercell and squall line thunderstorms.
