Award, scholarship posthumously honor Casten’s longtime dedication to 4-H

Joyce Casten grew up in Franklin County, where she was an active 4-H member. As an adult, she and her family lived for many years near Quenemo in Osage County. She was an active 4-H leader in the Melvern Jr. Highline 4-H Club, and mom to four 4-H daughters. Joyce was serving on the Frontier Extension District 4-H Program Development Committee at the time of her death.

The Joyce Casten Memorial 4-H Scholarship will be awarded annually in the Frontier Extension District, beginning next spring.
