Ag Wire: USDA service center to host customer appreciation day

The Osage County USDA Service Center will host a customer appreciation day, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11. The service center staff will serve refreshments and holiday cheer to express their appreciation to Osage County producers and ag-related businesses for a year of cooperation in serving area farmers and ranchers.

Certify wheat and grass acres now

Producers should certify their 2014 wheat and grass acreage now. The deadline for wheat reporting is Dec. 15, 2013. Filing an accurate acreage report for all crops and land uses, including failed acreage and prevented planting acreage, can prevent the loss or benefits for a variety of programs. Call the FSA office for an appointment.

Remember to report any changes to your farming operation to the FSA office. Changing operators, address, banks, etc. needs to be recorded correctly.
