The International City/County Management Association has announced that Lyndon City Administrator Kim Newman is one of 26 ICMA members who has been recommended to be credentialed as a city manager in January.

Newman was nominated for the credentials after meeting requirements of 10 years as a city manager, undergoing testing, and submitting a professional development plan that was reviewed by a credentialing advisory board.

ICMA credentialed managers are professional local government managers qualified by a combination of education and experience, adherence to high standards of integrity, and an assessed commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.

Founded in 1914, ICMA’s mission and vision is to create excellence in local governance by developing and fostering professional management to build sustainable communities that improve people’s lives worldwide.
