Neil A. Williams, 81, Vassar: July 14, 1932 – December 19, 2013

VASSAR – Neil A. Williams, 81, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at his home at LaMont Hill near Vassar. He was born on July 14, 1932, in Lyndon, the son of Clifford and Grace Lindsay Williams.

Neil had lived most of his life in the Lyndon community and had been at Vassar since 2000.

He graduated from Lyndon High School in 1950. He had owned Williams Motor Company in Lyndon, had sold insurance and had been a car salesman in Topeka. He had been a member of the Lyndon Lions, had been an Osage County chairman, and was a member of the Lyndon United Methodist Church.

On Nov. 26, 1950, Neil was married to LoRee White in Lyndon.

Neil was preceded in death by a son, Kent Williams, on Feb. 15, 2003, and a granddaughter, Lindsay Williams, on Oct. 26, 1997.

Neil is survived by his wife LoRee; two sons, Gary (Martie) Williams of Lewisville, Texas, and Bruce (Charna) Williams, Lyndon; his daughter, Kimberly (George) Norman, Lyndon; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial services for Neil will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at the funeral home and from 12:30 p.m. to service time on Saturday. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice or the Lyndon United Methodist Church and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
