Rotary Club invites all to celebrate community spirit at new Overbrook library

With the new Overbrook library opening its doors Jan. 6, the first community event has been planned in the facility. The Overbrook Rotary Club is hosting Community Spirit Night as a fundraising event to landscape the new library frontage. From 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, everyone is invited to wear their school colors and show support for their favorite team. The evening promises fun, prizes and awards, plus “game day food” and beverages, all included for a donation to the Rotary Club fundraiser.

The Santa Fe Trail High School Jazz Band will present a live performance, which starts at 6 p.m., along with a program during which Rotary Club will honor two local individuals. As part of the fundraiser, a silent auction will give bidders opportunity to buy their favorite school sports items.

The Rotary Club will also be offering chances for Valentine’s weekend getaway to Branson, Mo. and $100; $5 raffle tickets available for purchase during the spirit night event.
