Kenneth E. Huston, 88, Overbrook: Jan. 23, 1925 – Jan. 10, 2014

011314-obit-hustonKenneth Earl “Kenny” Huston, age 88, of Overbrook, Kan., died Jan. 10, 2014, at Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook. He was born Jan. 23, 1925, in Franklin County, Kan., the son of Earl M. Huston and Zetha (Wray) Huston.

After attending Appanoose High School, Kenny, known to be a “fixer to a fine art” was a self-employed man of many talents. He worked as a farmer southeast of Overbrook, as well as an electrician, plumber and handyman. He was a member of the Washington Creek Church of the Brethren.

On Oct. 29, 1949, Kenneth was united in marriage to Ila Mae Grove in Lawrence, Kan. She preceded him in death.

Kenny was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Howard Huston; and a sister, Wilma Rieck.

Survivors are a sister, Virginia Taylor, Overbrook, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 at Greenwood-Roberts Funeral Home, in Overbrook. Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Appanoose Cemetery, northwest of Centropolis.
