Helen L. Peimann, 92, Vassar: July 4, 1921 – Jan. 19, 2014

VASSAR – Helen L. Peimann, 92, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at a nursing home in Edwardsville, Kan. She was born on July 4, 1921, in Brown County, Kan., the daughter of Edwin and Edith Schumann Meyer.

Helen had lived most of her life around the Vassar community and had been in Harveyville and Burlingame before moving to Edwardsville three years ago.

Helen graduated from Powhattan High School in 1939. She had been a homemaker and farm wife. Helen was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Vassar, where she was also a part of the Daughters of Zion.

On July 27, 1947, Helen was married to Howard “Doc” Peimann in Powhattan.  Howard preceded her in death on March 9, 2010.

Helen is survived by her three children, Steven Peimann, of Burlingame, Susan Eubanks, Edwardsville, and Linda (Marshall) Miller, Berryton; and her sister, Ruth Gastler, Tacoma, Wash.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar. The family will receive friends from noon until service time on Saturday. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery on the north side of Pomona Lake. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, Vassar, or the Risen Savior Lutheran Church, Basehor, and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
