Osage County gains transcription service

BURLINGAME – Lettie Thomas, owner of Ad Astra Transcription Services, recently relocated from Topeka to Osage County and brought her transcription company with her.

Thomas began offering her transcription services on a freelance basis in 2010. Since then, her services have grown into a successful business with clients all over the United States. While today’s technology allows the company to provide services to any location, Ad Astra looks forward to serving local governments, businesses, and individuals.

“Osage County thrives on small businesses,” Thomas said. “Providing job opportunities and supporting the local economy is important to me. My goals for 2014 include getting to know the community and looking for ways to help local businesses increase productivity.”

Ad Astra transcribes audio and video of meetings, interviews, and lectures for the public sector, businesses, students and instructors.

Thomas is a member of Tradebank of Topeka, the Freelancers Union, and serves as treasurer for Stepping Stones Homeschool Group in Overbrook, Kan. She lives with her family west of Burlingame, Kan., where she homesteads, home schools, and operates Ad Astra.
