Osage County Senior Center News

By Osage County Senior Center Director Byron Jordan

For years our public transit program has referred folks to local volunteer drivers for their transportation needs that are beyond the options available from our bus service. This process has always worked fairly well, until recently when some of those drivers decided they could no longer provide this service. Now we only have one local citizen that volunteers to drive people to special destinations, which brings us to this call for volunteer drivers. If you would be interested to be on our referral list, please call the senior center at 785-528-4906 to discuss how the process works.

There are plenty of seats left on the March 28 bus trip to Topeka for a meal and a movie. And we are working on an early April evening trip to the Three Fires Steakhouse. A sign-up sheet should be available by March 18. If you are interested in either trip, give us a call for further details.

For more information, call 785-528-4906, visit the center at 604 Market St., Osage City, or see the senior center’s web page.
