Parking violations causing safety concerns at Osage City’s schools

OSAGE CITY – USD 420 Superintendent Troy Hutton is asking for the public’s cooperation during ongoing construction at Osage City schools. Recent work on the south side of the school has caused parking problems and traffic congestion.

Hutton issued this statement Monday:

“With the south side of the school closed to school traffic due to construction, and snow piles taking up valuable parking areas, it is apparent that there is and will continue to be traffic congestion in the west elementary lot before and at the end of the school days.

“Individuals who park in areas that are not identified as designated parking areas in the parking lot are blocking traffic and causing further congestion. This in turn is creating safety concerns for our students and patrons.

“We have asked for assistance from the Osage City Police Department to resolve this issue, and tickets can be issued for these violations.

“We are asking for your cooperation in helping us to resolve this situation and to exercise patience during this time to help us keep our students safe.

“Thank you for your assistance.”
