Bryon Franklin Black, 54, Shawnee, Okla.: Nov. 17, 1959 – Feb. 26, 2014

022814-Bryon-BlackSHAWNEE, Okla. – Bryon Franklin Black, 54, died Feb. 26, 2014, at Shawnee, Okla.

He was born Nov. 17, 1959, at Kansas City, Mo., to Glen N. and Helen (Harris) Black.

He graduated from Osage City, Kan., High School in 1977. In 1983 he graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in horticulture and agronomy.

He married Dianna on March 17, 2001.

Bryon saw the true value in people and served selflessly and generously with his time and talents. He saw needs and quietly took care of them.

He was a quality specialist at Shawnee Mill, remodeled homes, and previously worked at Cargill in many different areas throughout Kansas and California.

He was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where he taught sixth-grade boys Sunday school.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glen N. Black.

He is survived by his wife, Dianna Black; children, Lydia, Garrett and Kirk; mother, Helen Black, Spring Hill, Kan.; sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and David Long, Louisburg, Kan.; brother and sister-in-law, Stan and Pam Black, Minneapolis, Kan.; and numerous nieces, nephews and grateful friends.

A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at Immanuel Baptist Church, Shawnee, with Dr. Todd Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.
