KDOT project to repair slide along I-35

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has begun a project to repair a slide along I-35 in Osage County. The project is located approximately 1½ miles northeast of the Coffey/Osage county line, at Coal Creek.

Northbound I-35 traffic is restricted to one lane at the work zone during daylight working hours. KDOT awarded the project contract of $347,563 to Bettis Asphalt & Construction, Inc., of Topeka. Weather permitting, the work should be completed by autumn 2014.

This preservation project is funded under the T-WORKS transportation program.
