OVERBROOK – Lillian May Smith, 77, of Overbrook, Kan., passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. She was born on Dec. 19, 1936, in Leavenworth, Kan., to Elza and Effie (Fowler) Rudolph.
Lillian was born and raised in Leavenworth. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who also worked as a nursing aide and in the food service industry. She enjoyed coloring, word searches, and being a jokester.
Lillian was united in marriage with Clyde Edward Smith on June 11, 1956, in Leavenworth. She spent many years traveling as an Army wife, and spent the last 14 years in Overbrook.
Lillian was a past member of the Temple Baptist Church, in Leavenworth, and the George Edward White Post 56 Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, in Leavenworth.
Lillian is preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, and four sisters.
Lillian is survived by three daughters, Jo Ann Call and husband, Robert, of Overbrook, Jeannie Beatty, Overbrook, and Judy Berglund and husband, Leon, of Kershaw, S.C.; sister; Fay Langsford, Kansas City, Mo.; and eight grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at Greenwood-Roberts Chapel, Overbrook. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, March 17, at Greenwood-Roberts Chapel. Graveside burial services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth.
