Silver Alert: Onaga man missing

031714-silver-alertThe Onaga Police Department is asking for assistance locating Melvin Robert Potter, 67, of Onaga, Pottawatomie County, Kan. Potter has onset of dementia, and has a history of going missing. He has in the past traveled several states and not known how he arrived or why he was there. He suffers from high blood pressure and does not have his medication with him. He is believed to be in danger due to his medical conditions, dementia and lack of medication.

Potter was last seen at approximately 10 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, when he drove for a short errand. He was wearing blue jeans and a red flannel shirt that has brown patches on the sleeves, and he wears brown boots and a brown leather belt with a belt buckle that says “Oklahoma” on it. He walks with a noticeable limp due to a previous injury.

He was last seen driving a red and silver two-tone 1996 Dodge truck bearing a Kansas license plate of 385DPQ.

The Onaga Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating Potter and returning him to his family.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center at 785-457-3353.
