Terry Thornbrugh, 69, Ozawkie: Nov. 5, 1944 – March 27, 2014

OZAWKIE – Terry Thornbrugh, 69, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014, in Ozawkie, Kan. He was born on Nov. 5, 1944, in Quenemo, Kan., the son of Willard and Zola Clark Thornbrugh.

Terry had lived in Perry for many years and had been in Ozawkie for the last eight years.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1966.  He had worked as a Kansas Park Ranger for many years at Pomona Lake and Perry Lake.

He married Joy Long on Dec. 13, 2007, in Topeka.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Thornbrugh.

He is survived by his wife Joy; his two sons, Travis Thornbrugh, of Lawrence, and Trent Thornbrugh, Perry; a stepson, Mike Pierson, Lawrence; a stepdaughter, Debbie Woodworth, of Pennsylvania; his brother, Willard Thornbrugh, Williamsburg; his sister, Jan Lutz, Lyndon; and two step-grandchildren, Madi Pierson and Jacob Pierson, both of Lawrence.

Graveside memorial services with military honors will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 3, at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VA Canteen Fund or the Lake Perry Country Club-Fore the Pond and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
