Stop by for coffee or barbecue or technology: It’s all at your senior center

Submitted by Senior Center Director Byron Jordan

Please consider the Osage County Senior Center for COF’s Coffee, Tea and Conversation at 8 a.m. Friday, April 11. And then, the Osage City school band will be raising funds with their annual barbecue luncheon at the center over the lunch hour Saturday, April 12, during Smoke in the Spring.

We are just two weeks from our annual Senior Resource Fair on April 24. This is probably the biggest event thrown at the center each year. Numerous health-related activities are conducted, a great deal of information on local services will be available, and as always there will be plenty of door prizes. This year you must be present to win. If you want to have lunch with the other folks coming that day, make sure you let the nutrition site manager know at least the day before the event. Call the nutrition site to reserve a meal at 785-528-4170. For more information about the Senior Resource Fair, contact the senior center at 785-528-4906.

All the details should be available for the next rider appreciation trip, scheduled for April 30, by the time you read this. We are also now taking reservations for riders on our bus trip to the Kansas Sampler Festival in Wamego on Saturday, May 3. This is a really big event with vendors from all over the state showing their Kansas grown and produced wares. Please stop by or call the senior center to reserve your seat on the bus for these trips.
