Lyndon to celebrate Tree Month with annual cost-share tree program

BENCH-UNDER-TREE-01April is Tree Month and Lyndon is a Tree City USA, which is probably the reason the town will have its annual spring tree sale later this month. Lyndon offers its residents the opportunity to purchase trees on a cost-share basis. A homeowner’s cost per tree is $10, and short and tall growth trees are available. A Lyndon Tree Board member will assist purchasers in deciding the type of tree and a suitable location to plant it.

In addition to the low-cost trees, the city will also host a tree planting demonstration in observance of Arbor Day, at 9 a.m. April 26, at Lyndon City Hall, where the trees will be available for pickup.

Lyndon residents who wish to purchase trees are required to register with city hall at 785-828-3146 by Friday, April 18.
