C.W. “Bill” Coons, 67, Osage City: Nov. 27, 1946 – April 2, 2014

OSAGE CITY – C.W. “Bill” Coons, 67, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at a Topeka hospital. He was born on Nov. 27, 1946, in Topeka, the only child of Cloyce and Edith Schmitendorf Coons.

Bill grew up in Lyndon and had lived in Osage City most of his married life.

He served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970.  He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a section hand and machine operator.

On April 29, 1972, he was married to Cheryl McCue.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Cloyce and Edith.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, and his daughter and son-in-law, Marcey and Derek Wohlgemuth.

Graveside services were held April 5 at the Osage City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society or the American Cancer Society and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
