Carl’s Tire and Lube Shop, LLC, opened April 1, 2014, at 407 Brownie St., Scranton.

Owner Carl Wall grew up in the Scranton and Overbrook communities and attended Santa Fe Trail High School, graduating from True Learning Academy, Overbrook. He had further education through Goodyear and Midas. He returned to the Scranton community in 2010, when he purchased his home near his grandparents’ home.

The business will assist the public with tires, oil changes and general maintenance. Merlin Wall, Carl’s father, will assist in sales.

“Being from the Scranton area and seeing the need for a tire and general maintenance shop, along with my love of cars, I decided it was an excellent career change with the potential to grow and assist my communities in our county,” Carl Wall said.

He has worked in the auto industry for many years, as a sales manager at Goodyear and service advisor at Midas. He attended workshops and educational classes during his employment at both places.

Wall has dreamed of having his own auto repair shop. With the assistance from his parents and a close family friend, Larry Schmitendorf, his dream has come true.

For more information, contact Wall at Carl’s Tire and Lube Shop, 785-793-2230. Hours of operation are 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
