‘Osage City’s Got It!’ at the Kansas Sampler Festival

The Osage City Chamber of Commerce, city of Osage City, USD 420, and Osage County are working cooperatively to prepare for the Osage City booth at the May 3-4 Kansas Sampler Festival, in Wamego, Kan.

Local Sampler Festival committee co-chairs Tara and David Azwell, and committee members Vida Lewis, Jim Lohmeyer and Cathryn Houghton have reported receiving much community support for the event. For example, Kyleigh Lohmeyer’s fifth-grade class at Osage City Elementary School has integrated research of Osage City into their curriculum. Their findings, skills and knowledge will be used to create a continuous feed video that will be played at the Osage City Sampler Festival booth.

The booth theme is “Osage City’s Got It” and will use Skydive Kansas as a focal point and include information about Osage City’s history, churches, businesses and annual events, such as the Smoke in the Spring barbecue event, and area attractions such as Melvern and Pomona lakes.

Totes with Osage City information and giveaway items will be handed to visitors at the Osage City booth.

The Chamber is requesting giveaway items and handouts from Osage City merchants, businesses and organizations. Anyone who has items to contribute for the totes is asked to contact one of the committee members.

Information thanks to Osage City Chamber of Commerce.
