Sylvia Faye Flint, 97, Lyndon: Nov. 30, 1916 – April 12, 2014

LYNDON – Sylvia Faye Flint, 97, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Osage Nursing Center, in Osage City, Kan. She was born on Nov. 30, 1916, in Lyndon, Kan., the daughter of Austin and Tillie Jensen Stitt.

Sylvia graduated from Lyndon High School in 1934 and attended Strickler Business College.  She worked for the Osage County Welfare Department for many years.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Lyndon and Osage City, where she was Worthy Matron.

Sylvia was married to L.D. Flint in 1938 in Topeka.

She was preceded in death by her husband L.D. on Oct. 21, 1968; her parents, Austin and Tillie; four brothers, A.J. Stitt, Ludell Stitt, Holland Stitt and Avery Stitt; and two sisters, Lucetta Cochran and Evelyn Falk.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Sylvia’s request was to be cremated, with her ashes to be buried at the Lyndon Cemetery next to L.D., with no services.
