Senior resource fair next week; spring bus trips planned

Submitted by Senior Center Director Byron Jordan

Thanks to all those who came in for COF’s Coffee-Tea-and Conversation April 11. We also hope you join us for our Senior Resource Fair, April 24. There will be lots of free health check services, plus all the information for seniors, their families and caregivers usually available at the fair. Several door prizes and raffle items will be given away, but you must be present to win. Call the day before for a lunch reservation, and the drawings will be around 12:45 p.m.

There are plenty of seats open for the “bus trip of beauty” on Wednesday, April 30, when we visit various flower gardens in and around Topeka. Destinations include Lake Shawnee, the Ted Ensley Gardens, Ward Meade Park, and Old Prairie Town. Our lunch stop is at Annie’s Place. The bus will leave the senior center at 9:30 a.m., and we are asking for a $10 donation per rider to cover transit and entry fees.

On Saturday, May 3, we will have a special trip to the Kansas Sampler Festival in Wamego. Please call 785-528-4906 or stop by the senior center for more information or to reserve your seat on the bus.
