Spring snowstorm headed this way

The National Weather Service is forecasting that a late winter storm system is headed for Osage County and eastern Kansas Saturday through Sunday. Areas of moderate to heavy snowfall are expected to move into north central Kansas Saturday morning and into the afternoon and evening before tapering off by Sunday morning or afternoon. Significant snowfall accumulations will be possible with this storm. Snow will gradually exit from west to east during the day on Sunday.

Total snow and ice accumulations of 4 to 7 inches are expected, with locally higher amounts possible. East winds of 10 to 20 mph Saturday morning will gradually shift to the north and increase to 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts during the day on Sunday. With the increasing winds, low visibilities and some blowing and drifting of snow is possible.
