Learn about local resources at annual senior fair

Thursday, local senior citizens and others will be able to learn about resources available to them in Osage County and the surrounding area during the eighth annual Osage County Senior Resource Fair.

The annual fair, held at the Osage County Senior Center, is open to everyone, and numerous free health screenings are offered along with information about local senior care businesses and organizations.

The Lions Club Mobile Screening Unit, hosted by the Osage City Lions, will be parked in front of senior center, at 604 Market St., Osage City, and will be conducting vision and hearing screens, and blood sugar and blood pressure checks.

Other health services available at the fair will be oral screenings, balance checks, skin cancer screenings, and a toenail clinic. Also available will be VA information and assistance, and Osage County Sheriff Laurie Dunn speaking about senior security and safety.

Included in the day’s activities will be a drawing for door prizes donated by vendors.

The senior center’s doors will be open 10 a.m.-1 p.m. April 24 for the fair.
