Walquist to retire from Cotton-O’Neil, Carbondale

Marilyn Walquist, receptionist at Cotton-O’Neil Clinic-Carbondale, is retiring. A reception in her honor will be 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, May 9, at the Carbondale clinic, located at 211 E. Main St.

Walquist, a native of Lyndon, Kan., began her career at the clinic more than 20 years ago. She is an avid K-State fan and attends all home games. She is married to Wayne Walquist. They have three daughters, Amy Walquist, Carrie Shaffer and Megan Kilgore, and eight grandchildren.

When asked what she will do after retiring from the clinic, Marilyn said she looks forward to traveling, fishing and spending more time with family and friends.
