Troy D. Lewis, 44, Ottawa: June 28, 1969 – April 16, 2014

042414-obit-troy-lewisOTTAWA – Troy D. Lewis, 44, of Ottawa, Kan., died April 16, 2014, at Pomona, Kan. He was born June 28, 1969, in Lakenheath, England, the son of Ben Lewis and Diane (Munro) Seymour.

Troy graduated from Marais des Cygnes Valley High School in 1987 and then attended Emporia State University and Ottawa University where in played football, graduating in 1992.

He loved blues music, loved to tinker and was a K-State fan. He loved his children dearly and was devoted to them. His priorities were his children and his fiancée. Troy was an avid football fan, a very friendly person with lots of friends, lots of projects and enjoyed fishing and loved to read.

In 1993, he married Stacy Davis; they later divorced. In 2004 he married Billy Jo Sowers; they later divorced.

Troy was preceded in death by his father, Ben Lewis; grandparents Ian and Violet Munro; an uncle, Andrew Munro; and grandparents George and Elizabeth Lewis.

Survivors are Rebecca Stropes, Mission, Kan.; Diane and Greg Seymour, mother and father, Ottawa; twin sister, Dee Dee Lewis Shaffer, Ottawa; sister, Sasha St. John and husband, Steve, Ottawa; brother, Chad Seymour and wife Linda, Venice, Calif.; sister, Tish Seymour, Las Cruces, N.M.; brother, Dax Lewis and wife Christian, Burlingame, Kan.; four children, daughter, Shelby Lewis, Gardner, Kan., son, Laken Lewis, daughter, Leni Lewis, and son, Landen Lewis, of Auburn, Kan.. Troy was also the beloved uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at the Ottawa University Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to the Troy Lewis Memorial Fund in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067. Condolences may be sent to the family through
