USD 421 voters reject $12.38 million school construction plan

USD 421 patrons have voted down a 25-year, $12.38 million bond issue that would have built a new school and consolidated the school district’s campus.

In unofficial results of today’s election, as released by Osage County Clerk Rhonda Beets tonight, the tally was 198 yes votes and 615 no votes. Beets said there were about 25 provisional ballots yet to be counted.

The Osage County Commission will canvass the vote Monday during its regular meeting.

Votes by precinct:

  • Fairfax – 16 yes, 32 no
  • Olivet/Agency/Superior/Melvern – 2 yes, 28 no
  • North Valley Brook – 84 yes, 227 no
  • South Valley Brook – 33 yes, 96 no
  • Vassar – 35 yes, 133 no
  • Advanced ballots – 28 yes, 99 no
  • Total – 198 yes, 615 no
