Senior center serves as popular meeting place for variety of events

By Osage County Senior Center Director Byron Jordan

The Osage County Senior Center is a popular spot for family get-togethers, baby and bridal showers, birthday celebrations, and meetings, especially during the summer and around holidays. We get lots of calls requesting information and reservations. It is important to know that the center is a county agency building, so alcohol and tobacco use on the premises is strictly regulated. Reservations are on a first come-first serve basis, and can be made up to one year before the requested date. Monday and Wednesday nights at the center are already reserved throughout the year. We do everything we can to accommodate folks on the dates and times they are hoping for. For deposit, donation, and general use information please call the center at 785-528-4906.

There are still seats available on the May 22 general public transportation evening supper trip to Luigi’s Italian Restaurant, in Ottawa, and the May 29trip to Truckhenge and Beer Bottle City, near Topeka, the Airport Antiques Store, and lunch at the Billard Airport Café. We would sure like to fill the bus up for these trips. Call the center or stop by at 604 Market St., Osage City, to sign up for a trip.
