Visit some oddities of the Topeka area

Submitted by Osage County Senior Center Director Byron Jordan

Amazingly there are still several seats available on the May 29 trip to the Topeka area to see Truckhenge and Beer Bottle City, the Airport Antiques Store, and to have lunch at the Billard Airport Café. We are quite sure that most people can’t say they have ever seen these attractions, making it all the more special. There is a $5 donation requested to cover transit and entry fees. And, remember, this is a general public transportation trip, so all ages are welcome.

In June we will be starting up our annual quilt raffle ticket sales. Tickets will be sold for $1 each or six for $5. And, for every six tickets purchased, that person will get a raffle ticket for a separate special drawing for a number of other prizes. The quilt or quilts to be raffled will depend on the number of tickets sold. The drawing will be held immediately before the nutrition site’s birthday lunch on Dec. 17.
